Saturday 7th July 2001 saw a very successful and innovative meeting held at Bovey Tracey where a gathering of some thirty five members and guests heard a talk by Harry Blundred, often credited with introducing the mini-bus revolution to the UK in the mid-eighties at his Devon General NBC subsidiary. Many arrived per an AEC Reliance / Harrington once in the Grey cars fleet and one of the original Ford Transit `Bread-vans` was on hand to view. Harry gave an entertaining account of his career and focussed latterly on his remaining bus operations in Queensland, throwing much light on the contrasts with operations here. A subsequent question and answer session proved equally illuminating and combined with an excellent buffet meal plus availability of `real ale` at the Cromwell Arms (which Harry Blundred owns incidently!) the event was hailed a great success and the format well worth repeating. |

Our next meeting was scheduled for Saturday 24th November in Salisbury. Due to the non-availability of the intended speaker on that date this meeting has been postponed until (probably) the Spring |
