Rules of Conduct

The attention of all Members and their Guests is drawn to the Society's Rules of Conduct, which must be followed at all meetings and events organised by the Society and its Branches.

We are pleased to welcome Martin Curtis, a well-known bus industry manager and author. He recently co-authored “Bristol Omnibus Services - The Green Years”.
Derby, United Reform Church, Victoria Street, 1400 hours.
Please note new location - not our usual Derby venue.
Saturday, 19 April 2008 Provincial Historical Research Group meeting.
We are invited to join with the PHRG who, after their business, are having a talk by John Holmes on “Learning the 4Rs - the Key to Success?”

Pre-booking will be necessary for this meeting

SUMMER EVENTS

Persons wishing to join any of the visits listed herein should contact the Midland Branch (see below) in good time prior to departure date. Subject to the requisite number of seats being available on any particular visit, booking details shall be sent one month prior to the date of the visit.

We are currently organising visits to operators during the Summer Season. Provisional dates for our visits are: -

We visit Central Connect at Nechells, Diamond at Tividale and Ludlows at Halesowen. There will also be photo opportunities at the Bus Stations in West Bromwich, Dudley (lunch break) and, if time allows, Halesowen
Birmingham, Paradise Circus (near bus stop Vc), 1000
Saturday, 21 June 2008 Visit to the Fylde area.
We have a coach to our first visit at Preston Bus, and then we will travel by a preserved double decker provided by the Lancastrian Transport Trust to Waltons, Blackpool Transport/Metro Coastlines, Cleveleys, Archway and the Lancastrian Transport Trust Museum. This is a joint visit with - and has kindly been arranged by - the North Western & Yorkshire Branch. Return time in Birmingham will be around 1930 hours.

Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station, 0925.

Saturday, 19 July 2008 Visit to Trent Barton, including Kinchbus.
A thorough look at this renowned high-quality company. We will be visiting Langley Mill, Sutton Junction, Derby and Kinchbus at Loughborough.
Again a coach is provided - return time in Birmingham will be around 1800 hours.

How to book a place

If you are a Midland Branch member, booking details will be sent to you one month before each visit.

If you belong to another Branch and would like to take part on a visit, please e-mail us at least three weeks before the date of the visit and we will send you a booking form.

Not a member?

You are welcome to one meeting without pre-booking. Visits need to be pre-booked - please e-mail us one month before the date of the visit and we will send you a booking form. Please note that it is necessary to book in advance for all visits.
